MASHMixer: Youth x NGOs

To mark the end of Daan Utsav: Joy of giving week, MASH Project Foundation organised “MASH Mixer: Youth × NGOs” on 9th October 2020. The event focused on promoting volunteering by joining hands with NGOs when there is a pandemic and people are barred to meet each other at the time of social distancing.

For this mega event, MASH Project Foundation joined hands with eight of the most reputed NGOs of the country. The organisations who embraced the event were Robin Hood Army, Goonj, Sampoorna Shiksha, Paint it Red, VartaLeap, Restless Development, Lets Teach English and Grey Shades. To link students and these NGOs, the participants were divided into groups with each group consisting of two NGOs. After every quarter of an hour, the group was opened so that each student can interact with every organisation.

Every organisation had sent two of its members who made the participants aware of the areas of working of the NGO and how they have helped mould a better society. Every organisation worked to fulfil certain SDGs like sanitisation, clean drinking water, zero poverty, no hunger, women safety and equality to name a few. The representatives of the NGOs also talked about the support students could provide by joining hands with the organisation and they also answered all the queries that the participants had with the utmost respect.
After the end of the interaction, all the organisations provided the details as to where the participants could register themselves to be a part of these NGOs and help society.

Overall, it was a great learning experience for the participants who got to know about the different NGOs and their workings and how could they contribute to making this world a better place to live
